Halloween in Calgary: 10 events to check out in 2016

Looking for a way to celebrate your inner ghoul or goblin? Here are ten Halloween events happening in Calgary in the month of October:

Ghouls’ Night Out
Ghouls’ Night Out is a family-friendly Halloween event held at Heritage Park.
WHEN: Oct. 27 – 29 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. (gates close at 8:30 p.m.) and Oct. 30 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. (gates close at 6:30 p.m.)

COST: Children 2 and under: free, ages 3 – 12: $6.95, ages 13+: $10.95

ScreamFest
According to organizers, ScreamFest is Canada’s largest and scariest Halloween event. It features haunted houses, carnival games and live entertainment. Rated PG-13.
WHEN: Oct. 14, 15, 21, 22, 27, 28, 29, 30 and 31 from 7 p.m. to midnight. Please note: Oct. 27 is adults only.
WHERE: The Grandstand Building, Stampede Park

Paranormal Halloween party
Ghost Hunt Alberta is hosting a paranormal Halloween party at the Rose and Crown. The event includes a tour of the pub – which is said to be haunted – and one-on-one psychic readings from Bonnie Milner.

Bustloose Halloween club crawls
Put on a costume and hop aboard the Halloween Boo-ze Cruise on Oct. 28 – or the Halloween Howler on Oct.29. Both events are 18+ only.

The Halloween Howl
A family-friendly walk and run at Eau Claire Market in support of the Alberta Diabetes Foundation. Costumes are encouraged.
